In the middle is the order
that Repetition was put in after finished. It was the first collection
of poems which was written all in one year and I am putting it in chronological
order now instead, now from the first poem to last for a change of pace.
The first poem as I have mentioned before was written in a new smaller
notebook about the Reading Room in the Library of Congress while waiting
for a law class to start. (I was a political science major, not a law
major but took some classes in law at the time). For those who don't
know, the Library of Congress is across the street from a large building
with a dome on it that until recently had something to do with democracy.
It is near a Courthouse which had judges that used to believe in
the Constitution, individual's rights, the separation of powers, and the
need for inviolable International Law and treaties as well. Leave it to
"Conservatives" to destroy traditions which many thought could never be
turned back, and many don't know they have lost them either, either because
they do not wish to know or because they really are that ignorant.
Below is the new order, or actually, the old order. Since a lot of it dealt with deja vu, and to me now is that time, I thought it interesting to put it back the way it was when written. As I also said before, it was meant to be not as deep or as serious or on philosphical topics as The Versatile Verse was, but it was written more for fun. I tend to do better things writing-wise, when done quickly while my mind is actually on other things. All poetry collections written after it, Triumvirum, Quadranine, and Pentacle, were much better, all better all around, but this is the one that many things now point back Newly reinstated ones (OANRs), just for this one: When all the good is gone, Beginnings, The End, The Gilded Prison, Blippity Blip, Donuts and Coffee, In-between, The Other Side of Life, In Your Shadow, The Old Shoe, Who am I?, Backtracks, Seven Riddles, Question Not, Might I, Be Aware,UBU (You be you) , Repetition, Only the dead can say, I... |

This Room
In this room
Many who came before
They still remain
I can't see them
|
Mr. Bluebird
Good Morning, Mr. Bluebird
It's always so good to see you
I am very glad
I hope you like the food
Do you even realize
Goodbye, Mr. Bluebird

Beginnings
There is a point in time
We are here and there
We see the beginnings
To understand, remember
|
The End
My time is gone
Where it went
I know not why
I will never be
|
Mine is the Sun
Mine is the sun
Mine is the earth,
Mine is the life
Mine are the stars

Follow the Leader
Some want to follow
Some have big dreams
Most are content
They choose to do it
|
True Blue (Later renamed Ruminations)
Whenever I think of you
All too often it seems
These images in my sight
No background can be seen,
The ocean is in the sky
It has no beginning or end
|
The Gilded Prison
Step right up son,
What's the matter boy,
There's absolutely nothing
Now hurry up boy,
|
Once Gotten, forgotten
Oh how we want things
Oh how we need people
Oh how we love people
Oh how we keep believing
|
Blinding fear
Once the darkness came
They fled into caves
They lived in darkness
One man alone believed
Then he led them back out
|
Midnight
As the seconds tick
The gun is pointed
The men stay calm
Now the second hand
A woman screams

Humility
Only the humble
Pride is a cancer
The honest few
The boastful
The humble people
|
Trafania
Beneath a majestic mountain
All of the people are wizards
There is never a shortage
These people never hate
They have no need of laws
They live outside of time
New people come all the time
They do not come here
Only your imagination
|
Blippity Blip
My sink continues to drip
Giving up I take a ride
Then I go into a store
Now I have ended my trip
|
Judas
All men are not equal
Judas, you won't be forgotten,
It does not seem possible
Surely He who forgives
It is really a shame

Circles
I've got less to go
I feel like a cat
Life is a circle
There is no top or bottom,
Like a frustrated cat,

Who goes there, I say I say
Look out, look out, it's almost here
Save me, save me, please please please
Alas, alas, it's here, it's here
It's dark, so dark, and I feel weak
God, oh God, don't forsake me

Donuts and Coffee
Its 7 am, where is that train?
Ah, I think I hear it now
Well, its not so bad,
(Yawn), I'm so tired
Oops, that's my stop
Just another block to go
"Hello", "Good morning", "Hello"
I don't know how
That is, until I reach

Ball of Ice and Fire
Pressures long since building
Fire is not the only thing
Each clears out the old
Nature is not unique,

Monomania
Fixation on our fascinations
Congregations of salvation
Then education for occupations
Organizations and administrations
Inclinations toward fornication
Elation soon becomes obligation
Saturation by our situations
Associations and relations

There is a sound
It comes as a feeling
This sound is music
When we hear it
It is a sound

In-between
I am not the best
I am not the first
I am not the strongest
I am not the smartest
I may be obscure

Here I am yet again
How can my voice
There are many points of view
As more people agree
People will become

Affinity
Out from the pool
By the enchanted pool
We drink in its nectar
Within this pool
When our time comes

I
found my soul
I found my soul
You had stolen it
I searched for you
It is in needing you

Montage
In a run-down tavern
Far away a young mother
At a nearby abbey
Beside a quiet river
Before approving crowds
Inside a gray prison
Beneath a shady tree
In an abandoned building
Within a nursing home

The other side of life
When we fall asleep
We break reality's mold
In this kalideoscope
We shall never be able
How this state affects us
|
Causes
Will we ever find
It always seems to be
But if this were true,
If we are what we make
While tomorrow awaits,
|
In your shadow
My life lies in your shadow
My eyes burn and my heart cries
You may not care for
My burdeon shall increase
|
Morning Star
Morning Star, shine bright for me
Morning Star, I have waited
Morning Star, don 't ever fail me
|
My love is real
My love is real
My feelings are true
What I feel

My soul has died
Mourn for me, Alicia
My spirit has been broken
Even death won't free me
I have given up on hope,

Pocketful of Miracles
I have a heart full of sunshine
Though the dreamers dream,
I radiate endless heat
Some will step on it

The Old Shoe
The old shoe rests
In it are the memories
It once had life
Now its usefulness
The old shoe lives

Memories of Spring
As the summer sun burns on me
These feelings are old, from another time
Soon the sun again shown and the birds did sing,

Pie in the Sky
I don't know why
Am I just a fool
Am I just hiding
Do I ignore the tragic
Even if this is true

Nognogdin
Who can taste
Who can smell
Who can hear
Who can see
Who can feel

All is Gone but not Forgotten
All things that once were
This is far from apparent
As soon as anything rests
Nothing can ever grow old
What ties together this string of things
We throw ourselves into tomorrow

Who am I?
Once I was me
Life brings changes,
I am confused
What I believe
Who I am

My Last Goodbye
As I lay myself down to sleep
All that has come before this
How many minutes, how many hours
I am tempted now to end it all
Forever fearful of beginning anything,
|
Backtracks
I look back upon my past
What causes the great disparity
All of us keep mental records
When I want to I know the pain
If I had to live again through it all

Seven Riddles
What can you have and not possess
What was but has never been
What is not what it is not
What can be but not be counted
What is always everywhere
What is the dream that can't come true
What is part of mine but not me
(All but the first and last
2006 note: the last stanza explains that the first and seventh are unrelated to the others. That leaves 5. "One has two but the other three and two in a row you will never see" seems to indicate that the second, fourth, and sixth stanzas are on the same topic or have the same answer or are tied together somehow, as well as the third and fifth stanzas, also being the same or related. |
Maidens faire
Silk and lace
A crimson rose
Joy and pleasure
Visions of paradise

I am, I say, I am
I want and I need
I am and so I love

Motions Passing
Motions passing, no one's asking
Onward time, leaving all behind
Empty places, last embraces

Question Not
"Question not,"
"Question all,"

Distant Shores
As I look to the open sea
I fancy I might soon set sail
I would find a land of paradise
Soon though, I must turn away

Quest for Certainty
What is or is not and what is meant to be
We laugh and love but remain unsure
Wishes and hopes become our purposes

Many times in my life
Then there were times
Never in my life
But now I stand tall

Goodbyes
A tender kiss
To be apart
They wear smiles
The bond stretches

Might I right
Might I give
Might I do

One Morning
The morning's dampness,
This morning is one
What is distant is obscure
But there is one thing

Swan Song
I had a lot to say
I have told truth and lies
What is is what is not
Many think but do not know
We choose what to believe

Remember me
Remember me,
Remember us,
Remember you

Broken dreams
My broken dreams
They once gave me hope
They seemed so real,
One last look

Dare to Dream
Never get trapped by believing
This world can tear you down
You can easily lose sight
Imagine what you want

Crystal Castles
I live beneath
They are beautiful,
Castles of wonder
They fly high above us

Repeats
Today is yesterday,
I've lost the future
These people's futures
I must watch the horrors
Yet I can also see the life
|
This Day Me
I am finally me,
The day is finally here
Wishes wished will come true
This day too will pass
|
Breaking Away
Weak is the force that binds me
All that I am is forever falling
My heart wavers but never falters
My soul seeks to break away
|
...and hope to die
Now and again I wonder
I do not say this lightly
I also know that for some
I am suppose to live and be glad

Branches
Fragile is the branch
Tender are the moments
Strong is the precarious bond

Cosmos
Down beneath the warm blue sea
Out beyond the reaches of space
People who search the cosmos beware,

Capricious Is Delicious
Capricious is delicious
But alloicious is suspicious
And malicious isn't nutritious

Repetition
You've heard it all before
Those who say its deja vu
Our minds block it all out
Now note (2006): I almost cleaned it up a bit, left out the stuttering, but then remembered why it was there. It wasn't very good and much that was left out was just not as good as the rest, but hey, as I say after rereading it now, the deja vu theme was there in many of the poems, and after it, the whole collection was called Repetition so I had to put it here now. I am pretty sure the title was immediate, pre-existed the collection knowing the second would have to be called Repetition, but wrote this one at the end about similar ideas mentioned before, at least about time anyway in The Versatile Verse, but this exact notion was revisted again in Quadranine's In Unison poem. Looking back, there have been a lot of poems I wrote about various aspects of time and time itself, not to mention other things such as Toward Tomorrow dealing with time throughout, the addendum to Deconstructing the Universe about repeating time called Shattering Time, and of course, Parmenides and Time Balls.

Only the dead can say
What will our minds see
Will the memories of our lives
How long will we be ourselves
Are we what we think we are

We,

End of original book - Below is things added from before and after
Infinity

Time will never be able to erase
Our time together is timeless,

Foolish Dreamer
I never wanted to become a dreamer
But what I wanted slipped away
Regret is a sour and bitter drink
I could instead play a fool's game
So dreaming is all that I have left

To Be You
What is it like to be you,
What thoughts fill your mind
What is it like to see me,
I wish that somehow I knew

We once touched
We once touched
We laughed and loved
We shared time
We were two

In Between Us
What has come between us,
Could it possibly be only time,
Or could it instead be merely space,
But my mind harbors fears of a worse fate,

In My Heart
In my heart, you will always live
In my heart, you can do no wrong,
In my heart, you are the soul of perfection,

Of Dragons and Kings
In a kingdom long ago
This king was a powerful king
His subjects too were many,
The beauty of his kingdom
He cut down all of the forests
The king made the people work
He turned away the rivers
Soon the people grew sick
Then the king heard talk of a dragon
The king got back a letter
The king grew afraid of the dragon
Again the king moved the river
Without water the fields grew dry
Soon giant fires swept the land
The king got very angry
That night while he dreamed
The dragon picked the king up
He carried the king far away
'This is your doing, not mine,'
The dragon flew over houses
Above where the forests were
Above the entire kingdom
'Your wealth is truly expensive,
Before he left, the dragon said
It was then that the king got the wish
The king might have lived

That's What the People Say
The world is full of us and them
Let the churches preach to you of love
Now don't you go preaching about freewill,
Always remember that it is we
