Back on July 25th of 2003 (after getting hit by a car (in June) and sustaining a serious head injury), while writing what would later be referred to by me as the 5D Notes, (actually this part of the 5D notes was later called the Pre-Notes), I, without thinking about it, started writing what became a short story, mostly about probability waves to sort out some ideas I had about the problem which I was trying to understand. This became called, "Universe Inc.'s Paradoxes and Probability Waves"

Two days later, I began another short story, mostly for the same reasons. With neither did I have any idea where they were going, only, like the notes, they were meant to be short little blurbs to frame what I was thinking about, or trying to sort out. That one was called, "Alien Abduction and the Schrodinger Security Guard"

And finally, a couple of days after that, when trying to sort out another problem, I woke up thinking about the first lines of what became 2D 3D 4D 5D Thinking Made Simple. Not able to get it out of my head and still half-asleep, I started writing it, constantly, except for a few quick meals, until I fell asleep at what was supposed to be the end of it. It turned out, it was only the end of part one.

Not really wanting to go back to working on it (As I said in the introduction to the 5D Notes: "The humor began with section two because I really did not wish to return to writing it after what it did to me the day before. I had blisters (I prefer to use pens). I had way too much I should have been doing else, and hated going back to working on it), the question came up though, what if they built the machine? What would that lead to? If I just left it at that, an irrelevant question unanswered, much of my life would have turned out differently. But no, I decided to write more, at least, Building the Machine. It then began to grow in size organically, sometimes logically following the arguements, sometimes off into weird directions which were actually somehow, to me anyway, workable in what I considered the overall frame of it.

I wrote as much as I could over August and early September of 2003, not every day, but enough to seriously disrupt my chances of paying my rent, not that that was possible, but made much more unlikely by this unintended and somewhat unwanted project. At the point of eviction and getting my car repossessed, I tried to wrap it up somewhere around section 6.0, and more or less killed off Inventor, or at least meant to.

But when it was time to leave, I messed up when figuring how long it would take to pack, (the writing also no doubt played into that lack ot time), and as mentioned in RCP2, I could not get to the airport on time, and then gained an extra week in paradise before I could get out of Hawaii at more or less the same cost from the airline on the same flight a week later. That extra time was enough to get a $5000 settlement for the accident which had left me somewhat out of sorts, and off to Europe and college I went. That extra week allowed me to, what else, waste more time working on this.

I brought back Inventor and Assistwo and got about halfway through 6.4: Mapping 4D objects on spinning spheres, but then had to leave and never got around to using motion and spinning spheres to represent 4D concepts.

As I said in the introduction to the notes, I could not afford timewise to work on the project as the concepts took too much time and most of my awareness to sort through. I was in Europe, about to go to school and trying to figure out how to pay for it and be able to stay there long enough to graduate, so little notes and drawings on concepts about 4D space were all I could afford time-wise. At this point the 5D Notes really were living up to their future name, later ascribed looking back when compiling them. This was Part 1 of the notes, while in Lithuania, hanging out, bike riding, learning on my own about the region I was to study, and getting ready for my studies, more or less.

I took everything I had written of the 5D notes and posted it (January 2004), I think to alt.physics and alt.physics.????. I did not really understand all of the concepts fully which I had written in this post, what was later called by me, the Notes Part 1, but that is what they were written for, to sort things out by re-reading them later to get a handle on them. As I mentioned later, it also was me getting a handle on my own thoughts as my brain was reorganizing itself after the accident. I could not do a lot of things mentally for awhile, and the math that I was used to was beyond me, but other things were coming up to take up the slack. As I mentioned in RCP2, it was kind of like starting over again mentally with a clean desk.

After going to school in Estonia in early 2004, I began what would later be called by me the Notes, Part 2. By the summer of 2004, I wrote a little short bit about curved space called the Omoglatron bit with the characters Inventor and Assistwo. It was only a couple of pages, but enough to refamiliarize myself with the project. I was not ready in the least to go back yet to working on it, but I liked at this point, just playing around with it a bit. Since I had then the concept of the Omoglatron, I just wrote a few pages to work it into the story. I also wrote the Omoglatron FAQ at that point too.

A year after that in the summer of 2005, I thought I could afford a few weeks to work on it and by that time I had enough to get to the end, or at least to wrap up book one. I did not really think that that was all there would be to it, and still I know many different parts of what would be book 2, but if there was not to be enough time to finish all of it that was/is possible, I at least wanted to get most of what was done by that point to some sort of conclusion. I did that over the summer of 2005 and made it all the way to section 8.0, the zero infinity level.

True to form, only seeming to be able to write it, or want to, in the summer months, this summer, 2007, I squeezed out a few more sections of book two, not really intending on getting too much into the story, but like in the summer of 2004, just playing around with a few of the concepts which would be, or will be if there is time, in book 2. Book 2 would cover much more complex and far stranger ground, so I doubt I would be able to work on it any time soon. Still, it was fun to be writing it again back on Maui where it all began. Below is all there is of it so far in the order described above with the side trips and clip shows from my blog.

Link Number 1): The very beginning of it as recalled in the PreNotes:
No such thing as a line, (a) square or cube shape each must have an inner to outer thickness. (July 2003)
(And thus with that single one sentence the idea grew overnight and I woke up writing 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D Thinking Made Simple, Section 1, or woke up thinking that and then began the rest, not really sure. Still, the concept of inner to outerness constantly pushing up levels of understanding dimensions thus turned my life upside down. The dimensional contortionist and mouse-in-walls    (Click here and here for those picture pages)   view at the beginning of the Notes better framed it to proceed to where I am now.)
